Event Description:
Join The Southern Steampunk Expo for it's one-of-a-kind, annual signature event on May 19th & 20th from 10AM-6PM at The Warehouse, located at 3420 Giles Road in Gulfport. This location has been home to "Terror on the Coast" and is filled with amazing movie sets and props from the big screen. This fun-filled Expo will offer Tea Dueling, Costume Contest, Belly Dancing exhibitions, games from Gulf Coast Gaming Events, area Airships, area steampunks sharing tips on the steampunk genra, multiple vendors, live birds & so much more. There will be vendor workshops and panels to offer instruction on making items such as leather clothing accessories. The Expo will kick-off with a Poker Run in Downtown Gulfport Friday night, and after the Expo on Saturday there will be live entertainment from Prof. Pinkerton and the SteamCog Orchestra. All proceeds will go to benefit the MS Coast Model Railroad Museum which is a nonprofit that is open FREE to the public. They are Powered by Donations and Fundraising efforts, so your support is greatly appreciated. Look for Railroad Safety Week the first week of April, along with Operation Lifesaver activities and a recycling, magnetic robot build that will be on display at the Expo. All entrants will receive one FREE admission to the Expo. As well, there will be an educational scavenger hunt at the Expo, Mystery on the Gulf Coast Express… a mystery depicting the Orient Express with a Coastal twist.
