The Kurt E. Schon, Ltd. Collection is the largest gallery in New Orleans & has been a presence in the Historic French Quarter of New Orleans for over 50 years. Our 18th and 19th Century Art Collection spans five floors and include French Impressionism, Barbizon, Realism, Post Impressionism and Contemporary Schools.

Over the years, our collection of paintings has been exhibited in renowned places such as the National Gallery in Washington D.C., the Victoria and Albert in London and countless other museums from Atlanta to Seattle and many cities in between.

Our gallery recently underwent extensive renovations that have transformed it into a uniquely beautiful event venue as well. Now you can have an elegant, one-of-a-kind dream wedding in one of New Orleans' most creative and romantic spaces surrounded by family and friends.

Nov 15    Shawn Williams at Ogden After Hours
New Orleans pioneering voice in “alt-rocka-countrybilly-serial-killer-blues,” Shawn Williams sounds like the result of a dirtier-minded Elvis deciding to get it on in the back of some roadhouse saloon with one of those sad-eyed cowboy types that would rather be drinking alone. Her debut album Shadow (2017) is a skillfully-mastered collection of originals that moves seamlessly from old-school R&B-inflected rockers to softer, wistful numbers that evoke the broken-hearted melancholia of the desert. Idiosyncratic, catchy, and rich with local talent, the tracks showcase Williams’ impressive musicianship and unique capabilities as a songwriter. On recording as in live performance, she conveys a sense of rawness, a depth of feeling, and a lack of pretension that set her apart from the rest of the city’s pool of talented up-and-coming musicians. Shawn has opened for national touring artists such as the Queen of Rockabilly – Wanda Jackson, Corey Smith, The Accidentals, Todd O’Neill, Loverboy, and more.Aside from her own music, she is also the founder of the all-female Elvis tribute band, Pelvis Breastlies. An accomplished career in radio has taken her from Atlanta to New York City and back to her hometown of New Orleans, where she marked success as the former programming director for two of the city’s largest radio stations (NASH FM 92.3 and 106.1 the underground), all the while managing to maintain gigging/writing/drinking schedule required of a young bandleader in a vibrant night town.

Nov 29    Salvations Gala + Auction
A gala and auction, Salvations serves to uplift a culture of creative reuse, demonstrating to our community that reclaimed materials have extraordinary value. Hosted by the Green Project, a New Orleans-based environmental nonprofit, at the beautiful City Park Arbor Room at Popp Fountain, the evening event includes a locally crafted dinner, open bar and live music. Anchoring the event is a Salvage Design Competition that calls upon local designers in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast to create furniture, lighting and functional art wholly out of salvage materials. Juried by a team of professional artists, appraisers and architects, the competition challenges both the designers and event patrons to discover that one’s trash can turn into another’s treasure. Each piece is judged on craftsmanship, creativity in the use of salvage materials, functionality and overall aesthetic. Six top prizes are awarded, including Best in Show, and all pieces are auctioned in support of both the designers and the Green Project.
