Level Up! Minority Business Growth Intensive Applications Open
Good Work Network, a Central City-based nonprofit supporting women and minority business owners, is accepting applications for Level Up! - its new growth intensive for entrepreneurs of color designed to help increase revenues and create jobs.
Level Up! is a six-month program that prepares high-potential, minority-owned businesses for accelerated growth and expansion. Utilizing the internationally-recognized StreetWise MBA™ curriculum developed by Interise, participants of this program will join a cohort of peers and take part in class sessions, peer to peer mentoring groups, and self-analysis case studies.
Participants will also have a chance to access large corporations for partnership opportunities and walk away with a three-year strategic growth plan with the knowledge and know-how of how to execute it. Level Up! helps firms overcome growth barriers, create access to new opportunities, and connects them with the right resources to fuel growth and build capacity.

GiveNOLA Day Boot Camp
GiveNOLA Day is our community’s 24-hour event that inspires supporters around the world to give to the organizations they love. Are you one of the 700+ local nonprofits planning to participate in GiveNOLA Day this year? Are you looking for ways to improve on your success from last year? Are you joining for the very first time? This seven week boot camp will help your organization make the very most of this amazing fundraising opportunity. Through a series of three group sessions, three individual sessions, and a lagniappe study hall, your nonprofit can learn some of the best tools and tricks possible to raise money on GiveNOLA Day 2019! The Details: Who can participate: Up to 4 people per organization (including staff, board members, and volunteers). Please include the names when you register. Learn the history and art of making Hoghead Cheese. Taught by Daniel Robert, the Curator of Meat Science Programs at the Southern Food & Beverage Museum, this class will show every step involved in making two types of hoghead cheese (a New Orleans’ style and Cajun/Creole style) from start to finish. This class is aimed at both home cooks and commercial manufacturers.

"The Bellydancing Kitties of Constantinople" Concert and Book Launch
“The Bellydancing Kitties of Constantinople” is a beautiful illustrated book for children, cat lovers and bellydance enthusiasts. Written by Tamalyn Dallal, a New Orleans based author, dancer, and filmmaker, the story follows the life of a cat named Pasha who lives on Constantinople Street in New Orleans. Each page of the book is hand painted by Ayako Date, an artist and dancer who lives in Kyoto, Japan. She will be coming from Japan for this event. Tamalyn Dallal and Ayako Date will be dancing Persian dance and bellydance. Moroccan musician Amine Boucetta and his band will play live Middle Eastern music. New Orleans based bellydancers Stefanie Kemp and Iona will perform as well.

New Orleans Women & Children’s Shelter (NOWCS) is hosting its 5th annual “There’s No Place Like Home” fundraiser presented by Gulf Coast Bank & Trust on Tuesday, April 23rd. Patron Party is from 6PM-9PM and the Fundraiser is from 7PM-9PM. Civic leader and long time shelter supporter Leslie Jacobs will be honored at this event as the 2019 Jackie and Dan Silverman Homeless Champion.
