About Us

Operation Restoration’s (OR) mission is to support women and girls impacted by incarceration to recognize their full potential, restore their lives, and discover new possibilities. Our mission is grounded in equity, liberation, and the belief that people who have lived through incarceration must be centered in designing the solutions to dismantle the systems that harm them.

OR works to remove barriers across education, employment, housing, health, and civic participation while advocating for policy changes that expand opportunity and promote true economic equity for justice-impacted women and girls. OR’s approach recognizes that systems-level transformation and direct services must operate together in order to create sustainable pathways out of incarceration and poverty.

OR fulfills its mission through interconnected departments, including Operation Education, Operation Social Services, Operation Advocacy, Operation Freedom, Operation Girls, Operation Arts, and Operation Innovation. Together, these departments form an ecosystem of care that addresses immediate survival needs while dismantling structural barriers that perpetuate cycles of incarceration and poverty.
