About Us

UNCF, Inc. (United Negro College Fund), founded in 1944, is the nation's largest and most effective minority education organization. UnCF enables more than 50,000 students to attend its private 37-member Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other colleges and almost 8000 students to receive degrees each year by (1) providing operating funds to UNCF member HBCUs; (2) Awarding more than 7000 scholarships and internships; and (3) serves as a national advocate for the importance of HBCUs, minority education and college readiness.
