Ticket link: https://www.casasamba.com/. Benefit event for Samba Kids: https://www.sambakids.org/ Brazilian singer, songwriter, and producer LUDOM (also known as Luciane Dom) is on the move—and she’s bringing an explosive and soulful blend of Afrobeat, Reggae, Ijexá (a rhythm rooted in Afro-Brazilian traditions), and Brazilian Jazz across the United States. From May 8 to June 7, 2025, Luciane and her band will perform in over 20 cities, from Houston and New York to Denver and Santa Fe, on a tour supported by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation through the Performing Arts Global Exchange program. Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Luciane Dom is a magnetic force in the contemporary Brazilian music scene. With an intimate and fiery voice, she weaves rhythms from the African diaspora with politically engaged lyrics that address Black identity, feminism, and collective empowerment. Her music isn’t just heard—it’s felt. No stranger to American stages, this is Luciane’s second full-band U.S. touring which has included Davidson Ilarindo (drums), Filipe Lobo (bass), Pitter Rocha (guitar), and Pedro Petrutes (keyboards). She has performed at iconic venues and festivals such as Nublu (2021, 2022), Summer for the City at Lincoln Center (2023), and IIE Honors at the World Trade Center (2022). However, this 2025 tour is her most ambitious yet—reaching new audiences in cities like Houston, Lafayette, New Orleans, and Providence, while returning to beloved cultural hubs like Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and New York City. On Tuesday, May 13, 2025 LUDOM will perform at an evening benefit for New Orleans institution Casa Samba´s Samba Kids program. The vision of Casa Samba - founded by Mestre Curtis Pierre over 30 years ago - is to train children and adults in New Orleans and throughout the Gulf South into aspiring practitioners of Brazilian traditional music, dance and cultural arts. Also performing will be Casa Samba ensemble. In its programming, Casa Samba explores the similarities which bridge Carnival in Brazil with Mardi Gras in New Orleans emphasizing the importance of their African tradition and influences. Its Samba Kids program occurs weekly at N.O.R.D.C. Center in New Orleans, and is used as a form to help families spend time together, by having kids’ classes occurring at the same time as the adult classes. The classes are free for all children under the age of 18 years old. Luciane Dom’s discography, including Liberte esse Banzo (2018) and collaborations such as “Laroye” with Abase, “Jupiter” with Found Sound Nation, and several single releases, reflects a deeply personal and historically conscious approach to songwriting. Her music videos are rich in theatricality and symbolism, often blending concert art with performance art. Offstage, she is also a historian, educator, and cultural advocate, known for her projects in composition and performance. For fans of Tyla, Nneka, or Fela Kuti, Luciane Dom is an essential voice in today’s global music scene. Her U.S. tour is an invitation: come dance, reflect, and witness the powerful rhythms of Afro-Brazilian resistance and rebirth. Presented in partnership with Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, Mundo Giras, and Ocho Bajos Music, this tour is more than a series of concerts—it’s a cultural exchange, a sonic journey, and a celebration of resilience and joy.
