Pioneers of Women's Carnival

Description

Opening Reception featuring an all-female lineup of musicians and chefs, including the Original Pinettes Brass Band. Catering by Dickie Brennan & Co., Commander's Palace and Jaques-Imo's. The Pioneers of Women's Carnival Exhibition will focus on pioneering women's krewes that created a space for themselves in Carnival beginning in the late 1800s and inspired dozens of other women's krewes successfully founded in their wake. The exhibition highlights beautiful costumes, costume drawings, photographs, ball favors, and parade throws from our museum collection and numerous private lenders.
