Join us for an illuminating evening with several celebrated authors who will share insights from their latest book exploring untold LGBTQ+ narratives in Southern and Creole history in recognition of Pride Month. This special event will include a reading, a Q&A session, and a book signing opportunity with several prominent members of the New Orleans LGBTQ+ community, including Larry Bagneris, Robert Fieseler and Frank Perez. Larry Bagneris is a lifelong civil rights activist and founder of Houston’s first Gay Pride parade, and he will share passages from his powerful memoir, Call Me Larry. Award-winning journalist and scholar Rober Fieseler, author of Tinderbox and the newly released American Scare, will speak on the hidden queer histories with bold insight, and local historian Frank Perez, Executive Director of the LGBT+ Archives Project of Louisiana, brings New Orleans’s rich queer past to life through his tales and his latest work, Rainbow Fleur De Lis. Don’t miss this inspiring event that spotlights voices preserving and honoring LGBTQ+ history. Wine and light refreshments will be available.
