As we prepare for the holiday season, BK House will soon be beautifully decorated in traditional Christmas style, showcasing its nearly 200-year-old history in the Vieux Carre.  We are proud to share information on wonderful December events designed to entertain children and adults throughout the month.
 
Children’s Christmas in the French Quarter
Saturday, December 6
10:00 –11:30 a.m.     
The festively adorned BK House will present a special pre-Christmas party for little ones, complete with gingerbread house decorating, enchanting stories with Mrs. Noel, and an early visit by Santa to meet all the children. The event will also feature snacks, treats, and holiday beverages for children and adults.  Advance reservations are requested.
 
Cost for children 2-12 is $35; chaperones $10

Big Easy Boys Holiday Show
Thursday, December 18
Doors open at 5:30 pm; concert at 6 p.m.
Celebrate the sounds of the season at a festive holiday performance by New Orleans’ own Big Easy Boys. Known for their upbeat style, smooth vocals, and soulful harmonies, the popular group will give their own unique take on holiday classics and invite attendees to sing along with favorite tunes in a picture-perfect setting reminiscent of Christmas past.

Doors open at 5:30 pm; concert at 6 pm
 
Tickets are $35 for non-members and $30 for members and may be purchased at www.bkhouse.org

 2025 Creole Christmas Holiday Home Tour
All decked out and ready to spread the holiday spirit!

10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Historic BK House will join neighboring Museums for A Creole Christmas Tour of historic Vieux Carré properties in holiday dress. In partnership with the Friends of the Cabildo, this tour now enters its 45^th year and features a tour of the French Quarter’s most cherished properties, including BK House. Tickets for the tour can be purchased at www.friendsofthecabildo.org, and upon purchase, guests may enjoy our open house during the hours of operation for the Christmas Holiday Home Tour.

 About The Historic BK House & Gardens: Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the house was built in 1826, purchased by noted author Frances Parkinson Keyes in 1948, and restored under her loving care. Programming has evolved in the last several years to focus on the seven families who lived on the property, as well as the influences of the French Quarter neighborhood. A new interpretative program is underway to better reflect the heritage of the site. Membership, events, grants, donations, and fundraising activities generate revenue needed for ongoing restoration and capital improvement projects.
