Love Your City Awards to Honor Excellence in Equity and Sustainability

NEW ORLEANS (Dec. 19, 2024) – In a year where Louisiana ranked dead last for the second year in a row in the annual “Best States to Live,” a recent New York Times article highlighted New Orleans’ adaptability and resilience as a potential advantage in a changing climate. 

This spirit of resilience is exemplified by the work of organizations driving sustainability and innovation across the region. Over the past twelve years, Love Your City has celebrated more than 160 such change-making organizations for their contributions to building a sustainable future for New Orleans. 

On January 24th, that number will increase as the 2025 winners are announced at the annual Love Your City Awards Gala at the New Orleans Jazz Market.

Winners will be announced across ten impact categories for equity and sustainability as well as the Youth Pick, Best in Show and People’s Choice awards. The public can vote for the People’s Choice winner by visiting loveyourcity.us.

This event will feature an art auction by Young Artist Movement (YAM) with 100% of auction proceeds to support YAM and Arts New Orleans, Glbl Wrmng DJ Saint Amethyst, Trumpeter Andres, “Da Phessah” Baham, Keynote speaker Big Chief Shaka Zulu, plus a special performance. The event will be hosted by master of ceremonies Malik Mingo. The after party will feature DJ FTK.

Any business or organization can create a free Love Your City profile year-round and earn badges across equity and sustainability impact categories. Award finalists do not need to fulfill requirements for all ten categories to be eligible for an award in one impact area.
